Beautiful|Recommended: YesSo far it's been a wonderful experience.
No Parking But Very Private|Recommended: YesIt's a quiet, private, homie vibe with no parking after 10.
Nice location poor amenities|Recommended: YesThe location by the freeway is very loud. The appliances are old and break often. In 6 months living here we’ve had the laundry unit break down twice, all bathroom plumbing blocked and flooded, our dishwasher break get replaced and break again, a faulty fire alarm that goes off when we shower, now a broken burner and oven and we lost a lot of money because a pipe broke during construction upstairs and leaked into our unit- causing damage to clothes, purses, shoes...There is hardly ever parking available at night either. We live here because it’s convenient but there are a lot of issues here for what we pay. The staff try to be accommodating. Maintenance does as well.
Awesome and attentive staff|Recommended: YesThe grounds and location are awesome Very military friendly. The online pay system is a little screwy at times but, besides that, we absolutely love it here.
Nice place for us|Recommended: YesThis was a nice apartment complex to live in. We lived here for 4 years and enjoyed it. Not one complaint for me
Great place to live but the parking is a big issue for us|Recommended: YesOur biggest complaint is the parking and HOW some people park their cars on or over the lines horrible sometimes . Also, some of our neighbors are clean people, others feel its acceptable to leave shoes, whatever sitting outside their doors which looks bad. We also noticed recently that there are people going door to door soliciting on the weekends which didn't happen before. Overall though, Cardiff by the Sea apartments is a nice place to live.
A nice place to live.|Recommended: YesI enjoy it although finding parking near my apartment after 5PM is difficult.
It's fine.|Recommended: YesLocation makes this the most appealing place to live. Management is adequate, but doesn't always go out of its way.
Great place to live|Recommended: YesEverything was excellent. Management was professional and the facility was always super clean. I never had any issues the two years I lived here.
For the most part private, quiet,|Recommended: YesI would suggest for younger people to live here. I have already suggested these apartments to some friends, and one has even moved in. The biggest complaint I've heard and only experienced once or twice, is how long it takes for the maintenance crew to come and fix things. The maintenance crew are very polite and respectful, it just takes them a while to get here. The parking is very annoying, but, from what I've heard from the leasing office, is that everyone that is on the lease will get their own parking spot. Right now, if you get home after eight or nine, you're most likely going to have to park on the hill, which is no big deal, just for the price Im paying I would like to have a guaranteed parking spot. Other than those two things, I cannot complain about these apartments.
Facing west is hot and the walls are thin.|Recommended: YesA billion people always around. The pool, walking hallway conversations and driving are all very loud even in the apartment. Feels a little dorm ish. But a good spot for a season.
Overall, a clean and quiet apartment complex|Recommended: YesParking availability is definitely an issue. Every morning, there is a line of cars parked up the hill due to residents coming home at night and having no where to park. The office decided to start requiring parking passes to park here in hopes of resolving the parking issue but it doesn't seem to have helped. Also, I have had difficulty with communicating with office staff. There have been several times, even before I actually moved here, that I had to call and email the office repeatedly across several days before I finally got someone to respond to me. It was a difficult process for me to even find out when I could actually sign my lease due to no one returning my calls and emails. Besides these two issues, I have been happy living here. It is quiet and I rarely ever hear neighbors. The pool area is always kept clean and is usually not too busy. The gym equipment could use some updating though.
I love living here|Recommended: YesI'm a single female in my 30s and the number one reason why I love living in Elan Cardiff By The Sea is the safety. The parking areas and complex stay illuminated throughout the night, so I am never fearful about coming home late, parking, and walking in the dark. I like that the hallways feel more like those of a hotel warm, carpeted, and well-lit than those of a typical outdoor apartment complex. Furthermore, you can't beat the location. The complex is located atop the hill, walking distance from the beach, market, and shops. It's also just a short drive into Encinitas The staff here at Elan is incredible. Every time I have interacted with a staff member, he or she has been warm, friendly, and accommodating. I even had an emergency once and a staff member went to my unit to feed my pet. That kind of care and assurance is priceless
Overall great for the area, does fall short though|Recommended: YesSo far I have really enjoyed living here. Making friends throughout the community has been wonderful, however it has become apparent that many units are much more upgraded than ours and we are paying the same price. The carpet was NOT new when we moved in, in fact it was obviously a couple years old, and it looks like the false wood floors that are currently in our kitchen are throughout the main living areas of other units. The appliances are not great, stove, dishwasher and refrigerator are all very dated. Dishwasher regularly leaks and the freezer makes loud rattling noise often and the oven takes forever to preheat. Not deal-breakers, but definitely things to keep in mind. Lovely community and the office team is friendly
Love living here|Recommended: YesI'd tell them it's super mellow, easy, and great location.
